Sandiaga: I Ban Volunteers Spread Hoaxes and Use Cebong Words

Lensa Aktual. Candidate for vice president Sandiaga Uno asked the Prabowo-Sandi Digital Team Volunteer (Pride) not to spread hoaxes. He also forbade digital volunteers from using the word 'cebong' as a stereotype for the Jokowi-Ma'ruf camp.

"I said, we avoid politics that overturn each other. Don't use the word 'cebong', it's a vocabulary that I forbid. Use words of mutual respect," Sandiaga told reporters after a meeting with Pride in Kembangan, West Jakarta, Thursday.

Sandi said hoaxes made Indonesian people not believe in politics. For this reason, anything that will be distributed by volunteers must be verified.
"News that has not been verified, should not spread news that has not been verified, rumors do not apply, let alone broadcast. Because it will affect people's distrust," said Sandiaga.

Sandi also asked volunteers to spread hoaxes to be given more understanding. It became an internal mechanism for volunteers who spread hoaxes.
"Fighting hoaxes, we have to have a self mechanism to refute hoaxes. If there are more than 7,000 volunteers who are contaminated, that should be given an enlightenment," said Sandiaga.
