"Debt Enlarges to High Unemployment" PKS notes For Jokowi

Warta Jurnal. The PKS DPR faction provided a number of notes on the performance of the Joko Widodo (Jokowi) government throughout 2018, especially in the economic field. According to PKS, Indonesia's economic condition is still a concern.

"The PKS DPR faction noted the economic conditions throughout 2018 until the close of the year - even during these 4 years - stagnated at 5.0 percent," said PKS faction chairman Jazuli Juwaini in his statement on Wednesday.

Jazuli said that currently the country's debt burden is getting bigger. The promises of the government to lift the Indonesian economy have not yet been realized.

"Our state budget is not healthy enough. The primary balance is still negative. Our debt burden is large and burdensome to state finances. Even to pay the debt interest we have to use debt. The term is digging a hole in the hole. Weighing the economy is coupled with high unemployment," he said.

"So the poverty rate also doesn't shift far. The promise of the President to open 10 million new jobs is actually far from being achieved," Jazuli continued.

Not only that, according to Jazuli, Indonesia's agricultural conditions during Jokowi's leadership were also increasingly sad. Every year there is an average shrinkage of 150-200 thousand hectares. According to him, if this is allowed, the next 38 years of agricultural land in Indonesia will be exhausted.

"If this is not anticipated, in 38 years our agricultural land will be exhausted. As a result of this land shrinkage, rice production will decrease by 3 million tons every year. With this reality, the tendency to import rice will be higher. sugar, salt, shallots, and wheat. As a result, the interest of farming young people is shrinking again, they prefer migrating to cities to become laborers, "he said.

"In fact, the monthly income of the farmer's family has shrunk to only around Rp. 1.2 million per month. This is the biggest PR of the government to improve the welfare of Indonesian farmers," he continued.

Not to mention state guarantees for people's health also suffer serious problems and need immediate and systemic treatment. For example, said Jazuli, the delinquency in paying BPJS contributions which is still a problem in its own right.

"The arrears in BPJS contribution payments to hospitals have a side effect which has caused a decrease in the quality and quantity of public health services. Even though every year APBN subsidies continue to increase because the BPJS is always deficit. This shows poor quality management and threatens the health insurance of JKN-BPJS members. "It has reached 200 million people (76.7 percent), of which more than half are recipients of state budget contributions (disadvantaged groups)," said Jazuli.

Jazuli said, during 2018, his party also noted the number of natural disasters that demanded the performance of government disaster management which was getting stronger and well coordinated from the center to the regions by involving all potential disaster volunteers. He hopes, in the future, the government will pay attention to the adequacy of the budget for the emergency response, reconstruction and rehabilitation processes.

"We certainly do not expect disasters. But, when disasters come, the main priority is to save victims, including fulfilling the needs of food, clothing, and shelter that must be fulfilled immediately. Do not be made adrift. "he said.

Jazuli also hopes, in 2019, Indonesia will be better in the future. Moreover, the 2019 Election will also be held soon.

"Hopefully the people will be more objective in choosing the best leaders, leaders who are able to realize hopes and make the nation's condition more advanced and prosperous. We also hope that the election organizers, apparatus and neutral bureaucracy will maintain the quality of democracy," Jazuli concluded.
